Ahmedabad owned by CVC Capitals approach agency for suitable franchise name in IPL 2022.

Tata IPL 2022: The CVC Capitals Partners owned Ahmedabad franchise has reportedly hired an agency to recommend some suitable names for the IPL team ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.

The Irelia Company Private Limited (CVC Capitals) bagged the operational rights of the Ahmedabad based IPL team by shelling out a massive sum of INR 5625 Crores, last year in team auctions.

The franchise has hired an agency named Vector to suggest a franchise name based on the heritage of Gujrat. The name of the Ahmedabad based franchise will include an element of Gujrat’s culture and tradition.

Ahmedabad’s Three Draft Picks:

Meanwhile, the franchise has confirmed the appointment of Hardik Pandya as the skipper of the side.

Former Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, has been picked by Ahmedabad for INR 15 Crores. Pandya will lead the side, which apparently will be his maiden stint as the captain of any team.

Further, ace spinner Rashid Khan is also confirmed to be associated with Ahmedabad for the IPL 2022. Khan has been reportedly paid INR 15 Crores to provide his elite services.

Young Indian opener batsman Shubman Gill comes as Ahmedabad’s third draft pick for the IPL 2022. Ahmedabad has paid INR 7 Crores to Shubman Gill for his batting services.

As far as Ahmedabad’s coaching staff is concerned, the franchise has roped in former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra as the head coach of the team. Nehra, 42, was earlier associated with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), however, he relinquished his roles as he wanted to build an IPL team from scratch.

Team India’s former World Cup-winning coach, Gary Kirsten, has been named Ahmedabad’s mentor for the IPL 2022. Former England cricketer, Vikram Solanki will be Ahmedabad’s Director of Cricket Operations for the IPL 2022.
