Ajinkya Rahane will struggle to find a place in playing11 during the South Africa test series: Aakash Chopra.

India tour of South Africa: Former Indian cricketer Aakash Copra reckons Ajinkya Rahane will find it tricky to get a place in India’s test playing11 against South Africa. He further said that with KL Rahul being appointed the team’s vice-captain, Rahane will get a difficult time fetching his place.

The dynamics inside team India’s dressing room have changed drastically over the last couple of weeks. There has been some heat going on between the current red ball captain Virat Kohli and the BCCI over the ODI captaincy issue. However, the team is doing its every bit to win the upcoming test series in South Africa for which KL Rahul has been appointed vice-captain of the side as Rohit will be missing the test series owing to his hamstring injury.

The South Africa vs India three matches Test series will begin on December 26th at SuperSport Park Centurian.

“KL Rahul has been appointed as India’s Test vice-captain (for the South Africa series) as Rohit Sharma is injured. Rahul Dravid is the coach, Rohit is the captain of white-ball formats,” said Aakash Chopra in a video shared on Koo.

Ajinkya Rahane might find it difficult to find a place in the XI. He was captain just a couple of Test matches ago but right now he’s not even the vice-captain. Things are changing in Indian cricket,” added Chopra.

Rahane, who led India a few weeks ago against New Zealand, is enduring an extended pale phase in his career. He has scored just two half-centuries and a century in his last 16 test matches. Moreover, his average (24.39) has dropped drastically signalling alarming signs ahead for the cricketer.
