All-Rounder Ben Stokes keen on taking part in the IPL 2023 auctions.

The Indian T20 League extravaganza is the next big event lined ahead after the completion of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Although the IPL 2023 will be held next year, social media has started buzzing as we are nearing the auctions for the next edition of the league.

It’s notable that the IPL 2023 auction won’t be as big as it was last year, but there will be some high-profile names from all around the world who are likely to take part in the auctions. England’s current Test captain Ben Stokes is one such name who will boil up the auction floor and put multiple franchises in the bidding war.

As per a few reports, Ben Stokes, who arguably is one of the best all-rounders, is keen on taking part in the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He last featured in the IPL in 2021 where he could play just one match before getting ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

Interestingly, the all-rounder pulled out of the league, last year, as he wanted to focus on his side’s performance in test cricket.

However, there are a few hiccups on his way as he shows interest in participating in the IPL 2023. The historic Ashes follow immediately after the Indian Premier League 2023. The IPL will have a window of March to May or early June and the Ashes is scheduled to begin on 16th June 2023. England’s performance in the last Ashes has been utterly disappointing as they lost the series by 4-0.

As of now, no official confirmation is received from the England and Wales Cricket Board or from Ben Stokes himself.

Other big names that are likely to be throwing themselves at the auction table are Sam Curran and Cameron Green.

Sam Curran was associated with the four-time IPL champions, Chennai Super Kings until 2021. He didn’t take part in the IPL 2022 owing to his injury concerns. With him back in action once again for England’s national cricket team, he is certainly going to bag a massive sum in the upcoming IPL.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is another foreign player who is likely to fetch a healthy sum in the upcoming IPL auction. The stocks of the all-rounder went high after he smacked a quickfire half-century against India in 2022.

The IPL franchises have already begun preparing for the auctions which will be held on December 16, 2022. The player retentions and release will be done by November 15.
