As of Tuesday, RCB and Indian cricket prodigy Virat Kohli has reached 200 million Instagram followers, making him the country's first Indian Instagram user to do so. One of cricket's most celebrated players, Kohli, has a reputation for breaking records both on and off the field. The fact that he has achieved this level of success shows how much he is loved throughout the world. Only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have more Instagram followers than Virat Kohli, the prolific Indian batsman. In fact, Kohli has the most Instagram following of any batsman.
Taking to Instagram, where he maintains a personal account, Kohli expressed his gratitude to his fans.
"200 million strong. Thank you very much, Instagram family, for your continued support!" Kohli said the following in the description of a film he made from a collection of his Instagram images.
After the T20 World Cup in 2021, Kohli will no longer lead India's Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) prefers to have a single captain for all short overs forms. He was also demoted to the role of vice-captain in one-day internationals.
Shortly after that, he resigned from his position as captain of India's test team.
After his predecessor was demoted, Rohit Sharma was promoted to the position of captain of the whole team.
Because of Kohli's recent lackluster play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, the Indian team has decided to bench him for the Twenty20 International series that will be played against South Africa shortly.

He will return to the field of play for the fifth test that was initially scheduled to take place between India and England during the previous year.
Because of Kohli's leadership, India had already established a 2-1 lead in the series when the fifth match of the series was postponed because of an outbreak of covid in the opposing team's camp. This caused the match to be postponed.
