Andre Russell thanked Indian PM Narendra Modi for Covid-19 vaccines.

West Indies explosive all-rounder Andre Russell thanked Indian PM Narendra Modi for providing Jamaica covid-19 vaccine doses. He was seen appreciating India’s move to help other nations in a video posted by the Twitter account of India in Jamaica.

The Tweet wrote, “I just want to say a big, big, big thank you to Prime Minister Modi and the India High Commission. The vaccines are here and we are excited. I would love to see the world going back to normal. Jamaica people really appreciate it and just to show that we are more than close, India and Jamaica are now brothers. I appreciate it and stay safe over there. Peace.”

Earlier this month, Jamaica received 50,000 doses of the covid-19 vaccine. The Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness also praised India’s step to provide the vaccine. He said, “I am extremely pleased to report that yesterday afternoon, we received our first shipment of 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Government of India. We express our deep appreciation to the Government and people of India for this very much-needed support.”

Made in India vaccine reached Jamaica on March 08th which was under the Indian vaccine initiative “Vaccine Maitri’.

Apart from Russell and Prime Minister of Jamaica, former cricket Viv Richard, Jimmy Adams, Richie Richardson, and Ramnaresh Sarwan also thanked Indian PM and India for the doses of coronavirus vaccine.

In early March, Antigua and Barbuda also received Made in India 1,75,000 doses of vaccine in which 50,000 doses were donated by India to these countries.

Besides these mentioned countries, India has till now helped over 70 nations by providing covid-19 vaccines. In all these 60 countries approximately 65 million doses are supplied by India.
