Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq has accused the India team of the ball tampering in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. He pointed out Arshdeep Singh reversing the ball in the second spell against Australia and claimed that they had done serious work on the ball.

India’s team has been sensational in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. They won all their games heading into the semi-final and are looking favourites to win the tournament. They will be facing England in the semi-final and would be keen to win the game and go forward.

India booked their semi-final spot after a win over Australia in the Super 8 start. The Rohit Sharma-led side displayed magnificent performances with the bat and ball and made sure that they not only qualified but also put the opposition in a spot of bother in the tournament.

Arshdeep Singh was the key performer for India in the game against Australia. He went for some runs in his first spell. But in his second spell, he came up with a brilliant performance and picked wickets to help his team win the game.

Arshdeep Singh also reversed the swing the ball, which made life tough for batters. The pacer returned with the figures of 3/37 and helped India win the game by the margin of 20 runs and move into the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Arshdeep singh reverse swinging the ball didn’t go well with former Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq. He pointed out the pacer was moving the ball in the 15th over which is not possible and hence umpires should keep their eyes open.

He stated that If it was Pakistani bowlers who did the same the world would’ve been against them. While speaking to a media channel, he explained:

Arshdeep Singh, when he was bowling the 15th over, the ball was reversing. is it too early (for reverse swing) with the new ball? This means the ball was ready for reverse swing by the 12th or the 13th over. Umpires should keep their eyes open (to spot) these things…

“If it was Pakistani bowlers (reverse swinging the ball) this would have been a big issue. We know reverse swing very well and if Arshdeep can come in the 15th over and start reversing the ball, it means some serious work had been done before,” he concluded.
