Arshdeep Singh or this CSK pacer likely to be part of the Indian team for the England Tests
The India National Cricket Team is all set to lock horns with the England National Cricket Team in the five-match Test series. The series between the teams will begin on 20th July at the Headingley in Leeds and will also mark the new edition of the ICC World Test Championship.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be announcing the squad for the five-match Test series. The selectors reportedly will be meeting on Saturday (23rd May), and they will also be naming the new Test captain of the team following the retirement of Rohit Sharma.
With the excitement for the squad is taking its toll on fans, it is learned that, as per the reports in Indian Express, BCCI is keen to add either Arshdeep Singh or Anshul Kamboj into the team for the five-match Test series. One of the two is likely to replace Mohammed Shami, who will be dropped due to his fitness.
Arshdeep Singh is expected to get the nod ahead because of his experience in the English conditions. The left-arm pacer played County cricket for Kent last year and was successful as his ability to swing the ball was handy for his team, especially in English conditions.
Arshdeep Singh has been a regular member of the Indian team in the white-ball cricket
Arshdeep Singh has been a regular member of the Indian team in the white-ball cricket. The left-arm pacer made the headlines for his brilliant ability to swing the ball and also his death bowling skills put him above many players in the pecking order.
On the other hand, Anshul Kamboj has a great record in the First Class cricket. The fast bowler has taken 74 wickets from 22 games. He also has been doing a great job for Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, picking wickets in the powerplay.
It is also learned that Shubman Gill will be taking over the leadership of the team in the format. He also had a meeting with Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir and chairman of selection committee Ajit Agarkar.
