Asia Cup 2023: ACC announces Official Dates and Venue

Asia Cup 2023: ACC announces Official Dates and Venue for Asia Cup: On June 15th, Asian Cricket Council (ACC) confirmed the Date and Venue of Asia Cup 2023. Pakistan and Sri Lanka are going to host the Asia Cup as per PCB’s hybrid Model.

Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled from August 31st to September 17th, 2023. Pakistan will host four matches at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, whereas Sri Lanka will host a total of nine matches, including the Final of the Asia Cup.

Asian Cricket Council (ACC) approved Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Hybrid Model Proposal through voting to choose the venue of the Asia Cup. Pakistan proposed the Hybrid Model after the BCCI raised concerns over security issues in Pakistan. The BCCI already confirmed that the Indian team would not travel to Pakistan to play Asia Cup 2023.

Now, Pakistan will play the World Cup 2023 after the approval of the Hybrid Model as the BCCI refused to play the Asia Cup in Pakistan, therefore, Pakistan threatened India over his participation in World Cup 2023. Now, it’s official that Pakistan will host a few matches of the Asia Cup, whereas the rest of the matches are scheduled in Sri Lanka and the Indian team will play all their matches in Sri Lanka.

Asia Cup 2023 Dates and Venues:

In Asia Cup 2023, A Total of 13 matches were played between six teams ( India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal). There will be two groups in the Asia Cup 2023, and each group will have three teams.

All Teams will be playing in Round-Robin Format in Group Stages, whereas the top two teams of the teams will move to Super Four Round, which again follows a round-robin format, and then the top two teams will play the Asia Cup 2023 Final in Sri Lanka on September 17th, 2023.

In Group Stages, India will be with Pakistan and Nepal in Group A, whereas Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will be in Group B. The Defending Champion is Sri Lanka, who defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 final in United Arab Emirates.
