It was a proud moment for all the Indians as our Women’s cricket Team won the gold medal defeating Sri Lanka in the finals. Now, BCCI have sent a strong 15-membered squad to China for the Men’s Tournament which will be led by Ruturaj Gaikwad.
It will be the first time Ruturaj will lead the Indian side in any international competition. Remember, this Indian team is a second string or Team B of India which comprises young talents like Shivam Dube, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, and others.
The Men’s Cricket tournament is set to have as many as 13 teams. The 9 teams have to play group stages and the remaining 4 teams will get a direct entry to the quarterfinal due to their higher ranking. India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are the teams to get direct entry.
As a result of direct entry to the Quarterfinal, India will play their first match on 3rd October against the qualified team from the group stage.
The men’s T20 cricket competition at the Asian Games 2023 will take place from September 28 to October 8. The Pingfeng Cricket Field at Zhejiang University of Technology will host all of the games. Notably, it is the same location where the women’s Tournament took place.
