Australia and India retained top two spots in ICC World Test Championship Points Table.

Australia vs India: Team India’s grit not to lose the game after coming so far rewarded them with a draw along with 10 points in the ICC World Test Championship points table. Australia and India retained top two spots in the points table following a memorable drawn match at historic Sydney Cricket Ground.

A tremendous effort from the batting unit of India on Day 5 of the third test match that resulted in a draw. The game one time looked in complete control of Australia when skipper Ajinkya Rahane was caught on Day 5 but Rishabh Pant’s firing innings turned the table. Later Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin held the crease from both the ends to draw the match.

The game full of excitement, thrill, fighting spirit, and composure was a treat to watch for the fans and the supporters of both the side.

Australia retains the number one spot:

Australia is placed number 1 in the points table due to a better win percentage than India. Australia has 73.8% wins while India stands at 70.2% wins. New Zealand also holds its place with 70% wins. With the draw, India becomes the first side to cross 400 points in the ICC World’s Test Championship.

“An incredible battle in Sydney has helped both teams retain the top two spots in the ICC World Test Championship standings. A difference of 0.2 per cent between India and New Zealand,” ICC wrote on its Twitter handle.

New Zealand recently jumped to number 1 in the ICC Test Team rankings following a clean-sweep of Pakistan and West Indies. Also, the Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson becomes the number 1 Test Batsman.

Australia and India will lock horns again in Brisbane for the final time. India injury woes increased as Hanuma Vihari got hamstring tear in the third test match.
