Australia vs India: David Warner hopeful to come back in the second test game.
Australia vs India: The star opening batsman for Australia hopes to regain full match fitness to come back in the boxing day test game. Warner in the recent interview with SEN radio reveals his excitement and disappointment at the same time for the Test series against India.
The 34-years old had suffered a groin injury in the second One Day International previously, since then he is ruled out of the squad and is hopeful to step into the field for the boxing day test game.
“I am hopeful, that’s the one that I never wanted to miss out on. It is my first missed test through injury so I am obviously very disappointed with that,” Warner said on SEN Radio.
“Against India, it is a big event, I surely didn’t want to miss out, It’s devastating for me. But the guys who are stepping gout there will perform to their most.”
“Hopefully we win the first encounter and step onto the Boxing Day Test on a good note and get the momentum into the new year,” he added.
Another 10 Days will work, Warner
David Warner is currently doing his rehab program in Sydney and he plans to increase the level of intensity of his training.
“I have been training nicely, hopefully in a few more days, I will be good to go. I managed to get up to 14 kilometers an hour so I have got to increase it to a max of 26 to 30 kilometers an hour by the next week”
Australia and India are scheduled for the iconic Boxing Day Test from 26th December at Melbourne Cricket Ground. It is the biggest occasion on the Australian cricket calendar.
Previously Warner told, 10 more days will work for him to do the fast agile movement and another 10 days will provide him all these abilities.
“If I can go out there and run comfortably in the wickets and perform some ground fielding by the end of next week, I should be ready to go. Finger crossed.”
