Australia vs India Injuries Updates of the players. The speedster, Ishant Sharma has been ruled out of Australia vs India tour, however, Opener Rohit Sharma will undergo assessment on 11th December. BCCI at midnight released a statement regarding Navdeep Saini match participation who had suffered Back Spasms.
The board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officially came up with the updates after a long media interaction of skipper Virat Kohli. The skipper told that the lack of proper communication and clarity tossed up the whole issue.
Rohit Sharma Updates:
Kohli also raised questions on Why Rohit Sharma didn’t do his rehab in Australia along with wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha.
“Rohit Sharma came back to Mumbai after the Indian T20 league to see his ailing father and after which he went to Bangalore NCA for his rehab,” Jay Sah.
“Rohit is currently at NCA doing his rehab and is 75% fit for the series, however the next assessment on 11th December will clarify whether he is gonna be with the test side or not.”
The board will request the Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley for the relaxation in the quarantine rules for the senior Indian opener so that he can practice in the quarantine period.
Ishant Sharma Injury Update:
Talking about Ishant Shamra fitness Jay Sah told, “He (Ishant) is completely recovered from his injury of a side strain sustained during the first match of Delhi Capitals at UAE. Some time will be needed for him to get match fit. As a pacer, he will require a lot of practice to get completely match fit.”
“Ishant will not be the part of Australia vs India Border Gavaskar Trophy due to lack of full match fitness.”
T Natarajan as Saini’s backup:
The left-arm young seamer, T Natarajan was named as Navdeep Saini’s back up for the ODIs after the speedster complained about the Back Spasms to the management.
The 29 Years young Tamil Nadu pacer has been named for the ODI squad after the complaints from Saini. Natarajan was called as the net bowler for the Australia tour but subsequently named in the T20I squad after Varun Chakravarthy pulled off due to injury.
