Australia vs India: Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant taken for the scans.

Australia vs India 3rd Test Match: Team India’s injury woe continues as all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant were taken for the scans after sustaining an injury in the ongoing third test match at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

According to the reports of PTI, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a major injury and is likely to get ruled out of the remainder of the series. Jadeja sustained left thumb dislocation and a fracture in his bowling arm. However, Rishabh Pant has not been into serious injury, his elbow is assumed to recover and probably he will be available for the ongoing test match.

Jadeja unlikely to play further test:

“Ravindra Jadeja has sustained a dislocation and fracture in his bowling arm thumb. It will be painful for him to bowl with the injured thumb,” a senior BCCI official told PTI. “Jadeja will require at least two to three weeks of recovery time which eventually rules him out of the last Brisbane test match. As far as Rishabh Pant is concerned, he will be fine his injury is not that serious.”

Rishabh Pant tried to pull a short delivery from Pat Cummins but the ball did not bounce much and it directly hit Pant’s elbow.

Pant was seen in serious pain, Indian physio attended him and Pant resumed to play. However, he did not score much after the incident took place as it was clear that the southpaw was in pain even after taking some medical help.

Pant was caught behind off Josh Hazlewood on 36 posts which he was taken for further scans.

Ravindra Jadeja took a nasty blow on his left thumb while playing a delivery from Pat Cummins. He is likely to get ruled out of the remainder of the series as the BCCI official suggests he sustained a thumb fracture and dislocation.

Team India injured and unavailable players:

Till now India has lost Umesh Yadav due to calf muscle injury, Mohammad Shami due to forearm pain, and KL Rahul due to wrist injury. Also, senior pacer Ishant Sharma was ruled out of the Australian tour due to lack of full match fitness while skipper Virat Kohli is on paternity leave.
