Australian limited over skipper, Aaron Finch during his stay at the middle reached the landmark of completing 5000 ODI runs. However, this was not enough for the right-handed batsman. He became the second-fastest Australian batsman to ammas 5000 ODI runs after David Warner. He achieved this feat in 126th innings surpassing former Australian late Dean Jones who took 128 innings.

Third fastest ODI century:

After the blistering start to the innings, Steve Smith controlled the innings and gave no time for Indian bowlers to settle down. Smith reached his 10th ODI ton in just 62 balls. He hit the third fastest ODI century by any Australian and the second-fastest against India.

Glenn Maxwell holds the record of fastest ODI century in just 51 balls while James Faulkner smashed the second-fastest ton in 57 balls against India.

Most 150+ partnership in ODIs:

With the 156 runs stand for the opening wicket for Australia, Aaron Finch and David Warner now holds the record of most 150+ runs partnership in ODIs. Warner and Finch stitched their fourth 150+ partnership.

As hosts defeated Men in Blue by 66 runs at SCG, India recorded its sixth straight loss in international cricket. Previously, India lost 3 matches ODI series to New Zealand and two test matches. India recorded this worrying record after 17 long years.
