Australian all-rounder Cameron Green likely to enter IPL 2023 Auction: Every year ahead of the IPL auction there is always noise around some cricketers who could potentially take home a handsome chunk of money from the Indian franchises. Often it is seen that overseas cricketers, who possess the ability to whack and are fine bowlers, bag a lucrative deal during the auction owing to their multi-dimensional skillset. This year, Australian young all-rounder Cameron Green is one such probable player who can break the banks of the IPL teams.

The 23-year-old lanky cricketer has done exceedingly well so far in his career. His first glimpse of being a destructive player was seen during the Border Gavaskar Trophy in 2021. However, his name started doing rounds following his two electrifying knocks against India, earlier this year. He smashed Indian bowlers out of the park for fun and registered two half-centuries while opening the innings for Australia in David Warner’s absence.

If the reports are to be believed, Cameron Green has already enticed the interest of multiple IPL franchises ahead of the auction. Certainly, his fearless batting approach has grabbed eyeballs and is expected to earn a mouthwatering amount in the upcoming auction on 23rd December.

However, his availability was a big issue. There were rumours that Green might skip the IPL 2023 auction to focus on his national side. Australian skipper Pat Cummins has cleared the air by confirming that Cameron Green would likely enter the auction ring.

“Yeah, potentially (Green will enter his name in the IPL auction). We’ll wait and see, I think the auction is a little while away,” Cummins told SEN Radio.

“Selfishly as a captain, I’d love for him to save all of his energy for Australia. But how can you tell someone to say no to that kind of opportunity?” Cummins added.

Notably, Pat Cummins has decided to give a miss to the next season of the Indian Premier League owing to the packed international calendar ahead.
