Asked to chase down a modest total of 129 runs, the hosts comfortably crossed the finish line for the loss of just two wickets and 60 deliveries to spare, thanks to the blazing opening wicket partnership between Finn Allen &amp; Tim Seifert.They added 93 runs for the first wicket until the former got out off the bowling of Sufiyan Muqueem in the seventh over. He played a decent knock og 27 runs in 12 balls with the help of a six and five fours.
Muqueem didn't stop his bowling assault with the wicket of Allen as he gave yet another blow to the Blackcaps by getting the in-form left-handed batter Mark Chapman stumped in his very next over.
However, to the dismay of the Pakistani supporters, Tim Seifert once again crushed their hopes of seeing their side secure a win as his unbeaten knock of 87 runs in 38 balls steered the Blackcaps over the finish line. His inning consisted of six fours and 10 huge sixes. He also got involved in a match-winning partnership of 28 runs with Daryl Mitchell (2 runs), who remained unbeaten in the end.
For Pakistam, chinaman spinner Sufiyan Muqeem was the sole wicket-taker, dismissing two New Zealand batter for six runs in his two over spell.
Earlier in the match, Kiwi skipper Michael Bracewell won the toss and asked the visitors to bat first and that decision paid dividends as the Salman Ali Agha-led side managed to register a modest total on the board despite the fifty of their skipper.
They got off to a horrible start as they lost explosive opening batter Hasan Nawaz (0 runs) in the second over of the match with just five runs on the board to their name. Following this early setback, Mohammad Haris was joined by Omair Bin Yousuf in the middle for a small partnership of 18 runs, which was then followed by back-2-back wicket losses.
Haris managed to score just 11 runs in 17 balls with the assistance of two boundaries, while Yousuf, on the other hand, managed just seven runs. The Shaheens then lost two more quick wickets as Abdul Samad (4 runs) and Usman Khan (7 runs) perished cheaply.
The dismissals of these two meant Pakistan got reduced to 52-5 in 10.2 overs until captain Agha Salman and experienced all-rounder Shadab Khan began their rescuing act with an anchoring stand for the sixth wicket. They added 54 runs for the sixth-wicket until the latter was sent back to the pavilion by Jimmy Neesham on the very first ball of the 17th over. The spin-bowling all rounder contributed 28 runs off 20 balls with the assistance of five boundaries.
34-year-old Jimmy Neesham wasn't in the mood to stop and after taking the wicket of Shadab, he inflicted another blow to the Pakistani team as he dismissed Jahandad Khan in the same over as the visiting team slipped to 108-7 in 16.4 overs.
Pakistani captain Agha Salman also perished off the bowling of the 34-year-old in the penultimate over of his side's innings as he walked back after playing a good inning of 51 runs in 39 balls with the help of a six and six fours. He was also the top scorer of the match for the Shaheens.
Neesham was the star bowler of the Black Caps, picking up five wickets for just 22 runs in his four overs, followed by Jacob Duffy with two, and Ish Sodhi and Ben Sears with one wicket each.

The chief physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has shared an important update regarding the health of former opener Tamim Iqbal after he suffered a heart attack. 
Iqbal, the former skipper of the Bangladeshi Tigers, was playing in the Dhaka Premier Division for Mohammedan Sporting Club when he suddenly experienced chest pain on the field. He was quickly rushed to the nearby hospital on an emergency basis. 
According to the medical officer of the BCB, Debashish Chowdhury, the 36-year-old regained his consciousness after undergroing a successful stent-procedure. 
"We are hopeful that his general health will continue to improve over the next 24 hours, and his vital signs are improving," Chowdhury stated.
The medical officer of the BCB further mentioned that a stent was placed in one of Iqbal's arteries, while his other arteries were healthy. 
"We've been told by the hospital that one of his arteries has a stent in it, but the others are fine," he said.
Earlier, an official from Savar's KPJ Specialized Hospital provided more information about the condition of the 36-year-old. Doctor Rajib Hasan, the media director of the hospital, made the revelation that the left handed batter was brought to the hospital twice in a single day. 
"He was brought here for medical care after falling ill at BKSP between 9:00 and 9:30 AM, Dr. Hasan stated.
After receiving treatment initially, Tamim Iqbal felt better and left the hospital, but all of a sudden, his condition worsened, leading to a visit for the second time to the hospital. 
Following his arrival for the second time, the medical team of the hospital performer an angioplasty surgery and inserted a stent in order to treat his heart condition. 
"Tamim is now in better health. He had a heart attack, necessitating a stenting procedure, an angioplasty, and an angiography", Dr. Hasan said.
"The obstruction in his artery has been totally cleared after the successful treatment," he continued.

Delhi Capitals wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul will not be available for the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants. The third match of IPL 2025 was played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Mumbai, who lost the toss and came to bat first, scored 155 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Chennai scored 158 runs for the loss of six wickets in 19.1 overs and won the match by four wickets.

Chennai Super Kings began their IPL 2025 campaign with a victory over Mumbai Indians, overcoming some late-game jitters to secure the win. 1  Despite an early loss, strong performances from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra, who anchored the chase with an unbeaten 65, guided CSK to their target. 2  Earlier, CSK's bowlers, led by Noor Ahmad's four wickets and Khaleel Ahmed's early breakthroughs, restricted MI to 155, despite contributions from Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav. 3  Mumbai's opening game losing streak continued, though they showed resilience by pushing the match to the final over. 4

The chinaman caught Varma plumb in front of the stumps for 31 runs in 25 deliveries, leaving the visiting team in a troubling situation at 96-6.
The dismissal came in the 13th over of the MI innings as Noor bowled a delivery outstide the off stump and it turned in and Tilak failed to deal with it. The on-field umpire quickly gave the judgement in favor of the CSK spinner but the Southpaw took the help of the DRS review. However, the replays showed that the ball was clearly hitting the stumps and Varma had to go back to the dugout.

The 20-year-old spinner shined brighly on his IPL debut for the Chennai-based team, picking up important wickets of stand-in skipper Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Robin Minz &amp; Naman Dhir, finishing the match with magnificent figures of 4-18 to his name. CSK had spent 10 crore Indian rupees to secure the services of the Afghan spinner at the mega auction for the next three seasons.

In the end, the Suryakumar Yadav-led sie were able to post just 155 runs on the board at the loss nine wickets, with left-handed batter Tilak Varma top scoring with his knock of 31 runs. Skipper Surya (29 runs) and Deepak Chahar (28 runs) also chipped in with useful batting contributions.
In the IPL, CSK has defeated MI four times in a row. Last season, they defeated the team captained by Hardik Pandya by a margin of 20 runs. With five titles each, the two sides are the most successful IPL franchises.
