BCCI felicitates Neeraj Chopra and other Tokyo Olympic Medal Winners in IPL 2022: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), prior to the start of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, felicitated and awarded India’s Tokyo Olympic medal winners with cash prizes. The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly along with other top office bearers were present during the felicitation ceremony.
Golden boy, Neeraj Chopra, who won India’s first Gold medal in a Track and Field Olympic event, was awarded INR 1 Crore cash prize. Lovlina Borgohain, Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist boxer was rewarded with INR 25 Lakhs cash prize.
Indian Hockey Team skipper, Manpreet Singh was present to receive the award on the behalf of entire Hockey side. Manpreet Singh-led team India won a historic Bronze medal in the recently held Tokyo Olympics. The Hockey side awarded INR 1.25 Crores cash prize from the BCCI.
IPL 2022 – CSK vs KKR:
Meanwhile, the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) got underway with Ravindra Jadeja-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) locking horns against Shreyas Iyer-led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
KKR won the flip of the coin and opted to field first. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) couldn’t get off to a good start as both the openers were dismissed cheaply. Orange Cap winner of IPL 2021, Ruturaj Gaikwad recorded a duck while Kiwi recruit of CSK, Devon Conway could only score 3 rusty runs from eight deliveries.

Robin Uthappa looked in a solid touch but was stumped by Sheldon Jackson. Uthappa scored 28 from 21 balls.
Soon after Uthappa’s dismissal, CSK suffered a debacle. In no time, CSK was reduced to 61 in the loss of 5 wickets inside 11 overs.
The yellow brigade, owing to valiant efforts from veteran MS Dhoni, managed to put up a respectable total of 132 runs in 20 overs. Dhoni played a magnificent knock of unbeaten 50 runs from 38 deliveries to give a glimmer of hopes to the CSK fans.
Currently, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are chasing a total of 132 runs and they are at 25 runs in 4 overs.
Ajinkya Rahane – 17 runs from 15 (unbeaten), Venkatesh Iyer – 8 runs from 9 balls (unbeaten).
