BCCI releases annual contract list for 2025 season, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan return

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday (21st April) released the annual contract list for the next season. Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan, who were terminated last year, are back on the list following impressive performances. 

In the Grade A+ category, India captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah have retained their place. They will be getting INR 7 crore per year in this category. 

Keeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been promoted to the Grade A Category, which features Mohammed Siraj, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami. From the last year, only Ravichandran Ashwin has been dropped from this category. This, too, is because he retired from international cricket. In this category, players will get INR 5 crore. 

What caught the attention of many was Axar Patel being in the Grade B category. With the kind of performances that he has put in three formats, it was expected that he would be promoted to Grade A but that wasn't the case. He has retained his place in the B list, which will see players getting INR 3 crore. 

Along with him,  Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal are also there. Shreyas Iyer is also there I'm the C category. He has been going through a decent run of form and, hence, made his way back into the annual contract list. 

In the Grade C category, a lot of young players have been added. The likes of Dhruv Jurel, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Abhishek Sharma, Akash Deep, Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana have been added along with Ishan Kishan. 

Rinku Singh, Tilak Verma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Ravi Bishnoi, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Mukesh Kumar, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh are also there. The C category will see players getting INR 1 crore.
