BCCI to allow 25% fans in the stadium for IPL 2022 till April 15: The Maharashtra government has provided a green signal to allow a small capacity of fans to watch their favourite players compete in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), starting March 26. The ruling government of Maharashtra has allowed 25 per cent of fully vaccinated fans to book their tickets and watch the IPL 2022 till April 15.
In the statement released on Wednesday, the government said considering the declining covid cases in the state, the crowds in 25 per cent of stadium capacity will be allowed for the IPL. It was further stated that only fully vaccinated individuals will be cleared to enter the stadium.
This will be the first time since 2020, the fans will enter the stadium to cheer for their favourite IPL franchise. The last two editions of the IPL were held in the UAE owing to the complications posed by the COVID.
The decision was taken in the meeting held between the top officials of the Maharashtra government including Aaditya Thackeray and Eknath Shinde along with the office bearers of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and BCCI.
In the series of tweets, Aditya Thackeray informed about the meeting held between the officials.
“To ensure the smooth flow of the @IPL, Minister @mieknathshinde ji and I conducted a joint meeting of IPL, @BCCI with officers of Police and Municipal Corporations of Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai,” wrote Aditya Thackeray.

He further informed that for Pune, the meeting will be held soon with the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
“For Pune, the meeting will be held soon, proposed to be chaired by DCM sir to ensure that the tournament is successfully carried out in all our city venues,” said the Minister.
The IPL, which is now a ten teams affair, will begin on March 26 and the final will be held on May 29. as many as 74 matches will be held across four different venues of Maharashtra.
Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium and Pune’s MCA International Stadium will stage 70 matches of the IPL 2022. Meanwhile, the details on the playoff matches are still awaited.
As per various reports, the playoffs of the IPL 2022 will be held in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.
