India vs England Test Series: BCCI to allow fans to enter the stadium on 24th February.

India vs England Test series: Signalling to the complete unlock of the cricket operation in India, BCCI to allow fans enter the stadium on 24th February 2021. The recent actions from BCCI are directly pointing towards normalising the cricket functioning in the country after a year-long gap due to Covid-19 pandemic.

As per the recent reports of The Indian Express, BCCI will allow fans in the stadium to watch third test match between India and England from 24th-28th February at newly refurbished Sardar Vallabh Bhai Stadium Ahmedabad.

This will be the first time since the covid-19 outbreak last year that BCCI will open the gates for the spectators to watch the live actions of India-England test series. The series between India and England will begin on 05th February in Chennai. The games in Chennai will be conducted behind the closed gates and no spectator will be allowed into the stands as ordered by the BCCI.

The dangerous pandemic took all the cricketing actions to hold across the globe. While some of the cricket playing nations returning back to the basics with the inclusion of fans to the stadiums. In the recent series between India and Australia, fans were allowed into the stadiums however, Cricket Australia put caps in the number of fans allowed each day.

Almost 50% capacity to be allowed into the stadium

BCCI is also planning to return back to the basics and the starting seems to happen from Gujrat’s Ahmedabad stadium. The newly refurbished stadium will host its first international game on 24th February and it will be the pink ball test. The capacity of the stadium is increased to a massive 1,10,000, making it the biggest stadium in the world.

To mark the important event for the Gujrat Cricket Association and BCCI, the invitations have been extended towards PM Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda,  Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. Union Home Minister, Amit Shah is also likely to be present at the stadium during the first test match.

“As the seating capacity of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Stadium is over one lakh, the Gujrat Cricket Association can easily accommodate 50 thousand fans with proper social distancing arrangement. The government has also permitted to allow 50% crowd to the stadium for the sports event. Fans will be included in the stadium and the media personalities will also be there to cover the game,” a BCCI source said.
