?BCCI is in talks with Cricket Australia (CA) which in turn negotiating with the respective government to relax the quarantine rules for the two senior players. If the protocols are relaxed Rohit and Ishant might be present for the second test match,? BCCI Official.
Although the government has made the rules mandatory for the peoples, there are certain exemptions which are listed in the exemption category. The Australian Government?s health advisory as listed in the government website says, ?The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) recognizes some other travelers should be exempt from quarantine requirements as long as they take steps to mitigate risk. These travelers must apply for a quarantine exemption in line with state and territory requirements.?
Both sides are looking for relaxation from the government. The BCCI in UAE successfully negotiated with the UAE government for the relaxation in the rules for Australian and English Players who attended the tournament a bit late. However, the BCCI officials feel that this time too we will successfully pull off things with Australian respective sides.
Rohit & Ishant preparations:
Ishant Sharma and Rohit Sharma both are at National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore for their rehab. Rohit Sharma has a left hamstring injury while the latter had suffered side strain. Both the players have been ruled out of the limited over series against Australia. However, participation in the longest format is not yet clear.
Rohit Sharma in an interview a few days back said, he is completely fine now and some work needs to be done in strength and conditioning while the report from NCA suggests that the dashing opener is 70% fit. While the pacer was seen bowling in the nets of NCA much after the series was announced.
Team India?s head coach already said, if both of them want to take part in all four test matches, they should take the flight in the next three-four days. Otherwise, the quarantine rules will make it difficult for veterans to play the whole series.
