Bhuvenshwar Kumar:  Senior Indian pacer Buvneshwar Kumar is expected to remain out of cricket for straight six months. According to the reports, the pacer will have to miss the all-important England tour to India Series. Kumar is expected to return to competitive cricket with the next edition of IPL which is likely to begin in April.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is currently undergoing his rehabilitation program in National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bangalore under the eyes of Director Rahul Dravid.

Kumar last stepped into the field during the IPL 2020 where he picked a thigh injury.

He will be able to play only during the IPL as he is out of competitive cricket for six months,” an official in the know of things told IANS.

According to the sources, Kumar will also miss participation in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2020-21 for his home side Uttar Pradesh.

The Team is struggling with the bowlers with Mohammad Shami getting ruled out of the series due to a fractured arm in the first test game against Australia. Ishant Sharma earlier failed to recover from his side strain.

Team India is left with only two senior pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Umesh Yadav. They will have to look to some youngsters in the ongoing test series against Australia.

Classic Injuries for Kumar:

The problem with fast bowling is that it puts a huge toll on the body. He seems to be unlucky in the last couple of years and seems to be getting a lot of classic injuries — back strain, side strain, hamstring strain — that all focus in and around the lower back area, which is very often the problem area for bowlers,” Matthews told IANS.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is India’s one of the finest bowlers when it comes to early swing. Kumar has been phenomenal for his side especially in the white-ball format. But the past couple of years have been off for him, picking various injuries regularly.

In the recently concluded ODI series against Australia, India has missed Kumar when other pacers failed to pitch the ball right early on. India could not provide an early breakthrough which costed the ODI series.
