Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has suffered a major blow ahead of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Star pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been ruled out of the game against Orange Army, slated to take place on Friday (5th April).
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will be travelling back to Bangladesh to process his visa for the T20 World Cup 2024. The tournament will be played in the month of June in the United States of America and Caribbean.
As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that Mustafizur Rahman is expected to join the CSK squad on Sunday or Monday. It will be dependent on how early he gets his passport. If there’s a bit of delay, it might also see the Bangladesh pacer missing the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 8th April.
BCB cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus confirmed that Mustafizur Rahman has already reached Bangladesh and will be joining CSK soon. Speaking to Cricbuzz, he stated:
“Mustafizur arrived last night from the IPL for US visa purposes for the upcoming T20 World Cup. He will be giving his fingerprint at the US embassy tomorrow (April 4) and later will travel back to India to join Chennai.”
Mustafizur missing CSK vs SRH game will be a massive blow for the team. He has been Chennai’s best pacer in the tournament and has produced some magnificent performances. The fast bowler is the purple cap holder in the league with seven wickets in three matches to his name.

CSK will be left with a massive headache at the end of April in the ongoing IPL 2024. Fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman will be available only till the end of April as after that he will be travelling back to Bangladesh for national commitments.
