Delhi Capitals (DC) is all set to face a massive blow with Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 corner. Premier batter KL Rahul is all set to miss the first two games of the league as he and his wife await the birth of their first child.
The Delhi Capitals are putting in hard yards ahead of the IPL 2025. All the players have joined the franchise and are making sure that they get into the groove ahead of the season. But, what has caught the attention of many is that premier batter KL Rahul is yet to join the franchise.
Many have been left wondering why, with IPL 2025 around the corner, KL Rahul hasn't joined the franchise. However, it has been revealed that KL Rahul will be missing the first two games due to the birth of his first child.

The development was confirmed by Mitchell Starc's wife Alyssa Healy. Australia's women cricketer made the revelation while previewing the franchise with the YouTube channel LiSTNR Sport. She said that Harry Brook wouldn't be there and Raould be missing. She said:
"No Harry Brook, (so) it will be interesting to see who the replacement player will be. They have KL Rahul, who will probably not play the first couple of games, I think... they are awaiting the birth of (their) child, but that dynamic is cool."
KL Rahul was brought by Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 auction for INR 12 crore after he wasn't retained by Lucknow Super Giants. There were reports recently which claimed that the right-hander is likely to bat in the middle order.
This is because Delhi Capitals wants to have stability in the middle order. The franchise is expected to open with Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-Mcgurk with Abishek Poral at number four. Therefore, KL Rahul, Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs will be handling the middle order for the team in IPL 2025.
Delhi Capitals will be captained by Axar Patel in the IPL 2025. The franchise will be opening the campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on 24th March at Vishakapatnam.
