Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai will be joining Punjab Kings a bit later than expected for the IPL 2025. As per the reports in India Today, it is learned that the all-rounder's arrival has been delayed due to personal reasons.
The IPL 2025 is all set to kick start from 22nd March. Coming to Punjab Kings, the franchise has started its preparations for the league as many domestic as well as international stars have been putting hard yards in the nets ahead of the season.
The majority of the Punjab Kings players joined the franchise on Monday, March 17, and it was expected that Azmatullah Omarzai would be joining the team as well. However, that wasn't the case as the Afghanistan player will be arriving late due to personal issues.
It is learned that Azmatullah Omarzai will be joining Punjab Kings on March 21, four days ahead of their first game in the IPL 2025. Therefore, it is expected that he will be available to play the first game of the season against Gujarat Titans on March 25th in Ahmedabad.

Azmatullah Omarzai played for Gujarat Titans in the last few seasons. He would be keen to repay the faith shown by Punjab Kings with his performances. The all-rounder is expected to bowl in the powerplay and bat as finisher in the team for the IPL 2025.
Punjab Kings are putting hard yards at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. The likes of Head coach Ricky Ponting, captain Shreyas Iyer, and finisher Shashank Singh and others have joined the team. With the kind of squad they have, they will be one of the favourites to win.
