BPL 2024: Most Runs and Most Wickets: The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2024) saw a doubleheader Friday with Khulna Tigers taking on Sylhet Strikers in the first game and the evening fixture saw Durdanto Dhaka locking horns against Comilla Victorians. Both matches were held at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on February 09.
While Sylhet Strikers went over the rope against Khulna Tigers in the day’s opening game by 5 wickets, Comilla Victorians registered a win against Durdanto Dhaka by 4 wickets.
Talking about the first fixture, the Khulna Tigers posted 153 runs in the loss of 4 wickets. Skipper Anamul Haque played a magnificent knock of 67 runs. Later in the innings, Habibur Rahman Sohan added 43 runs to the Khulna Tigers’ total in just 30 deliveries to take their overall score to 153 runs.
The Sylhet Strikers were up for the challenge and their batting was led by Ireland opener Harry Tector, who played a match-winning knock of 61 runs in 52 deliveries. The other batters too contributed to the winning cause with their handy knocks as the Sylhet Strikers managed to chase the total in just 19 overs.
The other fixture of the day saw Durdanto Dhaka score a mammoth 175 runs in 20 overs, batting first. Mohammad Naim played 64 run knock while Saif Hasan scored 57 runs.
The chase was not going to be easy for the Comilla Victorians and on top of that, the team had lost both of its openers cheaply inside the powerplay. However, it was the breathtaking innings of Towhid Hridoy, that tore apart Durdanto’s bowling lineup. Hridoy slammed an unbeaten ton and single-handedly snatched the victory from Durdanto Dhaka’s grasp. With one delivery to spare, Comilla Victorians managed to bag the match by four wickets.

Durdanto Dhaka batter Mohammad Naim dethroned Babar Azam to occupy the number 1 spot in the BPL 2024 Points Table following his last night’s 64-run innings against Comilla Victorians. The batter has so far amassed 256 runs in 8 innings at an average of 32.
Rangpur Riders’ batter Babar Azam is placed second on the list of players with the most runs. The Pakistani batter has 251 runs to his name in just 6 innings. Babar is followed by Towhid Hridoy, who slammed a century to destroy Durdanto Dhaka in the evening fixture on Friday.
