Bumrah Needs To Be Smarter, He's Not A Youngster Anymore', Glenn McGrath Gives A Big Statement On Bumrah

Australian Legend Glenn McGrath has advised Jasprit Bumrah that he need to be smarter about his game probably his fitness.The right-arm medium pacer is currently out of the limelight due to an injury, In 5th test of Border Gavaskar Trophy against Jasprit Bumrah suffered through injury. Bumrah missed the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and may remain out of the Indian Premier League 2025 for a few matches. Bumrah is expecting to jointhe  Mumbai Indians squad in the first week of April.

Glenn McGrath said that he is putting a lot of pressure on his body as compared to other bowlers. The legendary bowler Glenn McGrath advised Bumrah to be more attentive of his body.

Glenn McGrath told to TOI that “He is putting more stress on his body than the other pacers. Bumrah has find the ways to manage his load but not at every time. He has come back stronger from injuries and is the only one who knows about the recovery time. Bumrah is not as young as he used to be, so Jasprit Bumrah has to be smarter in his upcoming games".

Jasprit Bumrah has been prone to injuries, since the beginning of his(Bumrah) international career in 2016 as due to injuries Bumrah missed several important series and tournaments for India.

Further , Glenn McGrath spot the light on the importance of off-field routine for any fast bowler for his fast recovery.

McGrath says that statement, “He has to work even harder off the field. Being a fast bowler is like driving a car. If you do not fill it up with fuel, then you are surely going to run out of fuel at some point of your career. My fuel tank was even bigger than Jasprit Bumrah’s tank because I did not bowl as quickly as him. These guys should know how they have to work at their best. If India is under the strain, then they need him,” Glenn McGrath added this.

Jasprit Bumrah recovery is going well. But at this stage it is better to give Bumrah some more time to return to his peak fitness, by considering an important test series against England which going to be start in June," a source told PTI. The Hardik Pandya-led side Mumbai Indians will open its campaign against CSK without Jasprit Bumrah on March 23 at Chepauk.

In Jasprit Bumrah's absence, the 5 times champions Mumbai Indians will go through another fast bowler like Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult.
