Captains of KKR, RCB and PBKS Revealed in IPL 2022: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Mega Auction is just around the corner and the preparations for the marquee event are going on in full swing. The BCCI is leaving no stone unturned to make the cash-rich event super successful.
With three days left for the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, each IPL franchise will be brainstorming to pen down a final action plan to purchase valuable players from the auction table. As many as 590 players will go under the hammer on 12th and 13th February to find their new IPL franchise.
While a few franchises will only be looking to complete their squad by filling up talented cricketers, a few will look to rope in a solid captaincy material candidate besides completing their squad strength in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
Franchises like – Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Lucknow SuperGiants and Ahmedabad Titans already have their well-settled captains, but a few franchises such as – Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be in hunt of their new skipper during the mega auction.

Captains of KKR, RCB and PBKS Revealed in IPL 2022:
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):
Former skipper, Virat Kohli stepped down from his role after the completion of the IPL 2021 to focus on his batting and manage his workload. Since the news broke out in the public, a fuzz has been created all around the social media where the fans and outsiders predict their choice of players who can lead RCB in the future.
The franchise now needs to solve the captaincy puzzle during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. It has been reported that former Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Shreyas Iyer is being targeted by the officials of RCB.
Iyer, who was released by DC during the player retentions, is amongst the top ten best draws of the IPL 2022. The cricketer is being chased by multiple franchises for his on-field brilliance.
If the reports are to be believed, Shreyas Iyer is going to be RCB’s captain in the IPL 2022.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR):
The Shahrukh Khan co-owned Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is eager to solve its captaincy issue in the IPL 2022.
The franchise had Eoin Morgan as the captain of the side, who was brilliant with his decisions but, the Englishmen couldn’t justify his place in the team due to his poor batting. Though Morgan was absolutely fantastic with his captaincy, his batting performance remained a concern.
Australian opener batsman David Warner is expected to be on KKR’s radar during the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Warner could be the next KKR skipper.
The Australian batsman had a bitter fallout with his previous franchise in IPL 2021. He was sacked from captaincy and was later removed from playing11 as well.
It is foreseen that KKR will heavily invest in David Warner’s services in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
Punjab Kings (PBKS):
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) is likely to appoint Mayank Agarwal as the captain of the side in IPL 2022. PBKS wanted to retain KL Rahul in the team, however, the cricketer wanted to explore other options outside Punjab Kings, especially after the franchises’ downfall in the last two IPL seasons.
PBKS retained Mayank Agarwal as one of its retentions. The opener batsman is highly likely to lead the team in the IPL 2022. However, there are no confirmed reports that claim the same.
For the time being, we will have to wait for the IPL 2022 Mega AUction to happen, which is on 12th and 13th February.
