Chetan Sakariya, Choudhary set to travel Australia as India’s net bowlers in T20 World Cup 2022: Young Indian pacers Chetan Sakariya and Mukesh Choudhary have been named as India’s net bowlers for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The two bowlers will travel Down Under to prepare the Indian squad for the ultimate challenge.

Both the left-arm seamers will help Indian batters to tackle the early challenge while playing in the swinging conditions. India will play its opening game in the T20 World Cup 2022 against arch-rival Pakistan on 23 October at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

“Mukesh and Chetan flew in with the team yesterday. As of now, they will be with the team for the Perth leg where India are supposed to play a couple of practice games,” said a BCCI official.

While Mukesh Choudhary impressed everyone playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under MS Dhoni, Chetan Sakariya grabbed eyeballs with his sharp back-of-the-hand slower balls in the IPL. Both the pacers have played good cricket in the Indian Premier League.

Notably, Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are highly vulnerable against the in-swingers early on in the innings. In the past, we have seen multiple instances of Indian batters struggling against the swing. The two designated net bowlers will make sure that the batters are accustomed to the moving deliveries.

Deepak Chahar ruled out of INDvsSA ODI series:

In another blow to the Indian team, Deepak Chahar has suffered stiffness in his neck and has been ruled out of ongoing India vs South Africa ODI series. He didn’t feature in the 1st ODI due to the same reasons and was taken to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for further scans.

India are already not at its 100 per cent bowling strength due to the injury to Jasprit Bumrah. Here another injury to any players will be salts on the wounds for the Men in Blue.

Chahar was impressive in the recently played T20I series against South Africa. He was hitting the lengths right and was able to move the deliveries both ways. He is also one of the toughest contenders to replace Jasprit Bumrah on the Indian side.
