Complete List of injured players in ICC T20 World Cup 2022: Just nine more days are left to the beginning of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia and the excitement for the showpiece event is flaring up. The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup will see its tournament opener on 16th October between Sri Lanka and Namibia.

While we get closer to the tournament, multiple injury concerns are emerging. South Africa’s Dwaine Pretorius has become the latest individual to be injured and get ruled out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.

Notably, Pretorius took part in the three-match T20I series against India and also picked up three wickets in the final T20I at Indore. However, the all-rounder has been ruled out of the upcoming T20 World Cup after suffering a left thumb fracture.

Team India has also lost two of its crucial players ahead of the T20 World Cup. While premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja suffered a knee injury, Jasprit Bumrah, recently, again triggered his back injury due to which he is also out of the World Cup action.

Babar Azam-led Pakistan are also facing a couple of issues regarding their pacer’s fitness. Ace pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi suffered a right knee ligament injury and he is yet to recover completely. Although Shaheen Shah is named in Pakistan’s squad for the T20 World Cup, he is still completing his rehab in London.

Moreover, Naseem Shah has recently tested covid positive and on top of it, he was diagnosed with Pneumonia after he took part in Pakistan vs England 1st T20I. Though he is reported to be recovered, his participation in the World Cup is still under the scanner.

Sri Lanka also have two injury issues in their T20 World Cup squad. Dushmantha Chameera and Lahiru Kumara are still undergoing their recovery from their respective injuries. While the former pacer suffered an ankle injury, the latter triggered his hamstring. The availability of both the aforementioned pacers is subject to their fitness.

Kiwi all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has recently fractured his right hand while practising in the nets. Subsequently, he is ruled out of the ongoing tri-series between Pakistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh. Mitchell’s inclusion in New Zealand’s T20 World Cup squad is also subject to his fitness.
