Cricket IPL: CPL approves BCCI’s request to end the tournament by 15 September.

Cricket IPL: The Indian and IPL fans will be delighted to hear that the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) authorities have finally approved the BCCI’s request to advance the tournament by a couple of days.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earlier reached out to the CPL for advancing the T20 league by at least a week to 10 days.

The CPL was originally slated to be played between August 28 and September 19 while now it has been shifted from August 25 to September 15.

“CWI is doing our best to help facilitate a smooth transition from CPL to IPL, without a conflicting overlap,” Ricky Skerritt, the president of CWI, told Cricbuzz confirming the proposed changes in the schedule.

The development was ensured after BCCI secretary Jay Shah met CPL COO Pete Russell via video conferencing.

The second half of the Vivo IPL 2021 will be completed during the window of September 19 to October 15 in the UAE, BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla confirmed the development.

Cricket IPL 2021: Availability of Overseas Cricketers:

Although the obstacle of CPL has been cleared by the BCCI, the availability of the overseas player still remains subject to talk.

After the end of the CPL, the Caribbean players are likely to be available for the elite Indian T20 competition.

England Cricketers: England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) had earlier asserted that their country’s IPL bound players won’t be able to attend the rest of the league games due to a packed international schedule.

The cricket board further said that they want their cricketers to remain fresh and sane before the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled later this year.

Australia Cricketers: There is a huge doubt on Aussie and their participation in the rest of the IPL 2021. The likes of Pat Cummins, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner and others have already gone through a lot during the IPL and they will certainly do not want to go through that process again.

Moreover, Cricket Australia (CA) is planning to organise a tri series along with West Indies and Afghanistan during the window of the Vivo IPL 2021 Phase 2, so the availability of players becomes even more puzzling.

New Zealand Cricketers: The kiwis are also likely to miss the entire second phase of the Vivo IPL 2021, which consists of 31 games, as they have their schedules fixed with Pakistan.

CPL approves BCCI’s request to end the tournament by 15 September.
