Cricket World Cup: The first semi-final match of the ICC World Cup was played against India and New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. In this thrilling match, the Men in Blue defeated the Blackcaps by 70 runs and made it to the finals. All the players of the Indian team contributed to this victory, but Shami is being praised across the country after taking seven wickets in the semi-finals.

Against New Zealand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss, batted first, and set a target of 398 runs for Kane Williamson and Company. On behalf of the Indian team, Virat Kohli scored his 50th century, while middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer scored 108 runs in just 70 balls with the help of four fours and eight sixes. Their charismatic innings were blurred by Indian pacer Mohammed Shami’s performance.

Mohammed Shami took seven wickets for 57 runs in 9.5 overs. Due to his performance, he has become the fourth bowler to take five wicket hall for the fourth time in ODI cricket. With this record, he has become the first Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in the World Cup. Shami took the first four wickets for the Indian team, and by taking the last wicket of the New Zealand innings, he confirmed the Indian team’s ticket to the semi-finals in the World Cup 2023.

The final match of the Cricket World Cup 2023 will be played on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian team has already entered the finals. Today, the second match of the semi-final match will be played between Australia and South Africa at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. Whichever team wins this match will face the Indian team on Sunday.
