Vivo IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batting coach Michael Hussey will remain in India for a couple of more days as he again tested covid positive after returning negative in the earlier tests. On Saturday, Hussey was doing well and his covid report stated negative however the following tests turned up Positive due to which he will have to be in quarantine in Chennai.

After a bus cleaner and bowling coach of CSK L Balaji, Michael Hussey was the third member of CSK to test covid positive. 

After seeing multiple covid cases, the BCCI abruptly suspended the Indian Premier League midway for an indefinite time. All the overseas players were sent to their respective homes via chartered flights while the Australian cricketers, commentators and support staff were airlifted to the Maldives.

The Australian government has put up a travel ban on India till May 15. All the players will remain in Maldives until the Aussie government lifts the ban. Any individual who violates the rules will be penalised with a 5 years jail or a hefty fine of $66,000.

“He tested negative before getting on an air ambulance from Delhi to Chennai (on Thursday). He is doing fine. All other overseas personnel have left, head coach Stephen Fleming will be flying out tomorrow,” said CSK CEO K. Viswanathan.

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Michael Hussey said that he is doing well and feeling better. He also praised the CSK franchise for taking care of him in these testing times.

“I’m resting well and I’m feeling stronger. I’m hugely appreciative of what CSK have already done and are doing for me,” Michael Hussey told Sydney Morning Herald recently.

“It’s horrific what’s taking place in India at the moment with the pandemic and I’ve been blessed with the great support I have received. I’m grateful for all the messages of support from cricket fans in India and Australia,” he said in a statement.
