Vivo IPL 2021: Australian premier pacer who was the part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has pulled his name back from the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. The pacer said that he wants to remain fresh and in a good frame for Australia’s upcoming schedules in the international format.

With this, he becomes the third Australian cricketer to pull back after Josh Phillippe and Mitchell Marsh.

The 30-years old cricketer is in and out of the bio-bubbles since last years IPL fixtures. Starting with Chennai Super Kings bio bubble in IPL 2020 to get in Australia national teams bubble. He said he wants to be physically and mentally fit for the packed Australian year ahead.

“It’s been a long 10 months in bubbles and quarantine at different times, so I decided to have a rest from cricket and spend some time at home and in Australia in the next two months,” Hazlewood told cricket.com.au. “We’ve got a big winter ahead too. The West Indies is going to be a long tour, with Bangladesh (T20 tour) potentially thrown at the end of that.

“Playing T20 World Cup in October-November and then heading to Ashes, so it’s big 12 months. I want to be mentally and physically fit and ready for all these fixtures and hence decided to pull back. I think that decision sits pretty well with me.”

Josh Hazlewood featured in three games for CSK last year in UAE, as MS Dhoni used his domestic options along with the combo of Sam Curran and Dwayne Bravo. This time too, MS would opt to go for domestic options with Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur on the cards along with Sam Curran and Dwayne Bravo.
