Vivo IPL 2021: CSK’s Sam Curran and Moeen Ali to be out of Vivo IPL 2021 Phase 2.
Vivo IPL 2021: MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has suffered an early jolt before the start of the second half of the Vivo IPL 2021. Two of CSK’s main troops are likely to remain unavailable for the upcoming IPL.
Sam Curran and Moeen Ali have given the major blow to the brigade in yellow as the duo is likely to be unavailable for the cash-rich tournament.
With more and more importance being given to the mental health of the players these days, the participation of the two aforementioned becomes more tricky.
Moeen Ali and Sam Curran, two of England’s premier all-rounders, are amongst cricket actions consistently in the past year or so. Moreover, the ECB had earlier put forth its point of view regarding the availability of English players for the IPL 2021.

ECB Managing Director Ashley Giles said, “The cricketers will be given adequate breaks in between however, it won’t mean that they are allowed to play other cricket leagues across the globe.”
CSK retained the services of Sam Curran in the IPL 2021 auctions while had to engage in the bidding war to fetch Moeen Ali for a whopping INR 7 Crores.
CSK skipper MS Dhoni played a gamble by promoting Moeen Ali to number three and the move has worked for the men in yellow and paid dividends. The all-rounder has amassed 206 runs in six matches for CSK in IPL 2021 and also scalped five wickets.
Talking about Curran’s performance, he clipped off nine scalps in the season along with 55 runs with willow in hand.
The unavailability of the two will result in the shuffling of the already settled CSK playing XI. The team would require the player of the likes of Moeen Ali at three, who can take on the bowlers without thinking much about the outcome.
