Australian cricketer David Warner is a well-known Social media influencer now. Besides being a full-time batsman, he takes Social media pretty seriously. He follows all the trends, posts funny videos and also responds to his fans quite often.

He is particularly very popular among the Indian fans for basically two reasons – having played in the IPL for so many years, he has developed a deep connection with the Indian culture and calls India his second home, and also because he has gradually transformed himself into one of the funniest and most frank cricketers in the world.

However, not all his posts are met with the same kind of love and affection by the fans and sometimes he ends up being the topic of controversy. The post that he made today ahead of the much anticipated 3-match T20I series between India and Australia was not particularly controversial but many fans are questioning him for one very small detail.

About 3 hours prior to the match, David Warner posted a picture of Virat Kohli and Aaron Finch with the caption “Who’s winning tonight? Come on Australia”.

While Aaron Finch is the captain of the Australian T20I team, Virat Kohli stepped down from his role as India’s captain about a year ago and many fans questioned why David Warner why he posted a picture of Kohli as Rohit Sharma is India’s captain now.

A fan asked this exact question to Warner in the comments section. He wrote: ”Bhai Rohit captain hai virat nahi but”. As the Aussie batsman checks his comments section frequently, he made sure to reply to that fan. Warner replied “I know sorry”

It is amusing that David Warner not only understood the Hindi comment but also apologised to the fan. Such a humble man!

Although David Warner is in Australia’s squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup, he has not been included in their squad for the series against India. He has probably been rested for this series as Australia want him at his best in the upcoming World Cup.
