DC vs KKR: KKR Triumped at the Kolta-Battle, defeated DC by 14 Runs!
DC vs KKR 2025: There was some hold on the nerves by KKR in the death! A comeback of massive calibre by KKR against Delhi Capitals at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium, New Delhi, where the visitors defeated the home team by 14 runs.
At one point, just before the death overs, DC were on top with a high winning percentage when they needed 75 off 42, but all it changed with a double wicket over from Varun Chakravarthy and a brilliant final over by Russell.
KKR’s openers, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sunil Narine, came out with guns blazing, setting up their highest opening stand of the season. Despite a mid-innings slowdown, young Angrish and the dependable Rinku Singh stitched a crucial 50-run partnership for the sixth wicket to push the total just past 200.
Delhi bowlers, led by Axar Patel (2/27), showed late discipline, conceding only 45 runs in the last five overs and keeping KKR from completely running away with the game.
The chase looked promising for Delhi, with Faf du Plessis anchoring the innings and Axar Patel striking at a fierce rate. At 136/3, the home side appeared to be in control until Sunil Narine spun the game on its head.
In one magical over, Narine dismissed Axar, Faf, and Tristan Stubbs, turning a smooth chase into a collapse. His spell (3 wickets including the game-changers) proved to be the defining moment of the match and left DC gasping for momentum.
Vipraj Nigam’s late fireworks (38 off 19) gave DC a flicker of hope, but it was too little, too late. KKR’s bowlers, including Varun Chakravarthy and Russell, closed out the innings with sharp, pressure-filled overs.
With this vital win, KKR not only stood alive for playoff contention but also delivered a heavy blow to Delhi’s home record, handing them their third loss in four matches at their fortress. It was Narine’s night, both as a player and a leader.
