IPL 2024, DC vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Rider defeated Delhi Capitals by a huge 106 runs in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. It was a wonderful performance by Kolkata Knight Riders against Delhi Capitals and more importantly, they haven’t lost a single game so far in this tournament. The Player of the match was Sunil Narine as he played a stormy inning of 85 runs at a strike rate of +217.95.

Delhi Capitals failed to play competitive cricket against Kolkata Knight Riders as the bowling was very average in this match by DC bowlers. They need to focus on their weak areas as early as they can otherwise it could be too late to make a comeback in the tournament. Skipper Rishabh Pant played quite responsible cricket but it wasn’t enough to win the match.
KKR continues their impressive performances in this tournament after winning the match against DC. All the key players are in good form but skipper Shreyas Iyer hasn’t played any match-winning knock so far for his team and he needs to play better cricket to win the pressure games as well.

KKR Batting
After winning the toss, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batted first and they scored a massive 272 runs on the scoreboard in the 20 overs in Vizag. KKR opener Sunil Narine gave another robust start to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as they scored 88 runs in the batting powerplay with the loss of only one wicket.
Sunil Narine played aggressive and dominating cricket against DC Bowlers as he never led them to make a comeback in the match while bowling first. Narine scored 85 runs in just 39 balls including seven fours and seven sixes. Every batter from the KKR side as continuously hit boundaries to the DC bowlers and kept them under pressure through the inning.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who was playing his match of TATA IPL 2024 for Kolkata Knight Riders played an impressive and stormy inning of 54 runs in 27 balls. Later on, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh continued the show in the death overs as they scored 41 and 26 runs, respectively and led KKR to a massive total in the match against Delhi Capitals.
DC Bowling
Delhi Capitals (DC) bowlers failed to continue the same performance as they gave in the last match against Chennai Super Kings as they leaked lots of runs not only through boundaries but also through extras.
Anrich Nortje took three wickets whereas Ishant Sharma took two wickets in this match and they are the only bowlers who have shown some quality bowling but they too leaked lots of runs.
DC batting Collapses to chase a massive target of 273 runs:
DC Batting:
Delhi Capitals had a poor start in the second inning as they lost four wickets in the first six overs of the second inning. In order to hit boundaries DC batters kept losing their wickets which ultimately led to the collapse. However, Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs made a decent partnership of 93 runs for the fifth wicket.
But, this didn’t last long as Rishabh Pant got out to hit a boundary and he was able to score 55 runs in 25 balls including four fours and five sixes. Tristan Stubbs scored 54 runs in 32 balls whereas other batters didn’t even make 20+ runs in this match.
KKR Bowling:
After playing exceptional cricket with the bat, KKR bowlers also gave a wonderful performance as they took early wickets and didn’t lead DC batters to make partnerships and make a comeback in the match. Vaibhav Arora and Varun Chakravarthy took three wickets each whereas Mitchell Starc got two wickets the match for KKR.
