Delhi Capitals (DC) Playing11 for IPL 2022, Players List and Squad: The officials of the Delhi based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise were incredibly proactive in bidding for the players. DC tried their luck in a lot of players that went under the hammer and at times it seemed like the Capitals are there to bag every player at the auction table.
But as per the stats, Delhi Capitals (DC) raised their paddle for 49 players during the two-day event of the Tata IPL 2022 Mega Auction, which is the second-highest in a season. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bid for the most number of players (50) during the auction.
Delhi Capitals, after the conclusion of the two-day event, looked sorted out as far as their priorities were concerned. The franchise convincingly managed to load up their squad with a lot of quality players. Moreover, the franchise also did excessively well in getting bargained players.
The likes of David Warner, Kuldeep Yadav, Mustafizur Rahman and Mitchell Marsh were picked at a decent cost which fell well under the budget chalked out by the Capitals. Shardul Thakur was the only expensive player that created a massive hole in the purse of the Delhi based IPL franchise.
Overall, Delhi was super successful to build a formidable squad, on paper, for the upcoming fifteenth edition of the IPL. Besides the overseas players, Delhi did a commendable job to pick up a couple of good domestic players who can serve the franchise for long.

Delhi Capitals (DC) Playing11 for IPL 2022:
The IPL 2020 finalists, Delhi Capitals (DC) were pretty elated after they got the Australian opener batsman David Warner at a bargain price of INR 6.25 Cr. Warner will surely be the key batter for them. He has a pedigree of scoring massive runs in each IPL season. David Warner will be paired alongside explosive Prithvi Shaw to make a strong opening pair.
Prithvi Shaw likes to take complete advantage of the powerplay and scores a lot of runs upfront. Shaw will play his natural game of the aggressor while Warner will look to solidify his innings and fire at the latter stage of the innings.
Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has impressed everyone, including the officials of the Delhi Capitals, with his sensational cricket of late. Marsh is in red hot form and helped his national side win its maiden ICC T20 World Cup last year. Marsh can control the game after a few quick initial wickets and can also whack the bowlers.
Flamboyant captain and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant will be at number 4. Pant has scored a lot of runs at number 4 and would continue doing that for his side. We all are familiar with his abilities to score quick runs and hit monstrous sixes. He is an absolute gem of a player in the present times.
Sarfaraz Khan will be up at number 5 for Delhi Capitals. Khan is a brilliant hitter of the white ball and can take up the finisher’s role. Delhi can try a couple of players if they feel a need for change. The likes of Mandeep Singh, Lalit Yadav, Yash Dhull can all make the finishing touches.
At number 6, West Indies Rovman Powell will be there. The Jamaican power hitter can play explosive shots right from the start of his innings. During the 2nd T20I fixture between India and West Indies, Powell nearly pulled off a run chase after he scored an unbeaten 68 from 36 deliveries. Powell tonked five sixes and four boundaries in his innings.
Spin bowling all-rounder Axar Patel will be placed at the seventh number in the pecking order. Patel will have a large role to fulfil as Delhi is no longer having the services of R Ashwin, who used to bowl a couple of overs in the powerplays. Besides his bowling, Patel is a handy operator of the bat and can add a few runs for the team.
As far as bowling is concerned, DC will pick Shardul Thakur, Chetan Sakariya, Anrich Nortje and Kuldeep Yadav.
Thakur has been sensational with his bowling operations for CSK. He has a knack for giving breakthroughs in the middle overs, even if he goes for a few runs. His economy lies on a bit of an expensive side, but his services make for it to a large extent.
Chetan Sakariya along with South African Anrich Nortje will be Delhi’s two other seam bowling options. Sakariya impressed everyone during his maiden IPL season, last year. He played for Rajasthan Royals and scalped 14 wickets in as many games.
On the other side, Anrich Nortje will be extremely crucial for Delhi’s aspirations to come true. He is an express pacer who can trouble the batsman with his raw pace. He was retained by Delhi Capitals (DC) by shelling out INR 6.5 Crores ahead of the IPL auctions.
Seasoned spinner Kuldeep Yadav will be the 11th guy for the Delhi Capitals (DC). Though the cricketer doesn’t have a lot of memories to cherish in the last few seasons, but he will look to bring back his magic and pick as many wickets for Delhi as possible.
