WPL 2025, DC vs GG: Delhi Capitals are back on the winning track with a 6-wicket win against the Gujarat Giants. Delhi Capitals have displaced Royal Challengers Bengaluru from the top of the WPL points table 2025. 

Delhi Capitals stormed to the top of the table with a commanding win, built on a ruthless bowling display. On a lively pitch, their seamers wreaked havoc, reducing Gujarat Giants to 127. A brief fightback from Bharti Fulmali (40 off 29) impressed, but it was never going to be enough. Despite early loss, DC’s bold move to promote Jess Jonassen paid off as she and Shafali Verma put DC on the winning track.

Meg Lanning flipped the coin and also won the toss. She went with the winning formula of the tournament "Bowl first and come first". Delhi Capitals had one change - Titas came in for Arundhati Reddy and Gujarat Giants had two -  Phoebe Litchfield and Meghna Singh came in.

Delhi Capitals had four quality pacers today. Shikha Pandey and Marizanne Kapp came first up and then followed by Sutherland and Titas Sadhu! These were absolute quality 16 overs for them clubbed with eight-over disciplined bowling options in the form of Jess Jonassen and Minnu Mani. 

With this exceptional bowling unit, Gujarat didn't have much room. Delhi Capitals grabbed the GG innings from the root and picked up early wickets. Gujarat were 4 wickets down inside the powerplay. Titas Sadhu got a big wicket of Ash Gardner for cheap. Deandra Dottin stood at one end and tried his best to regain the momentum for GG but not for too long.

Bharti Fulmali played some stylish shots and added valuable 40 runs towards the end and this put Gujarat Giants to 127. It wasn't going to be a tough one for Delhi Capitals with that long and attacking batting lineup. Lanning went back early but Shafali played patiently at the start. 

Jess Jonassen was promoted to number 3 today and what an innings she had. She pounded over all the bowlers one by one and posted 61 runs in the winning cause.

Shafali Verma played a crucial knock of 44 runs off 27 balls and Marizanne Kapp finished the game with a four. It didn't end as an easy chase but Delhi Capitals made it through with 29 balls left.
