The match started with DC as the favourites. With 2 consecutive wins they seemed to be the more probable winners when compared to SRH who had faced 2 consecutive losses.
SRH had to play well to win. Winning the toss, they had elected to bat first and the total of 160 that they had put up was just below par. Though, in this match we did see positive intentions of SRH in the few changes they had made. David Warner (45), Bairstow (53) and Williamson (41) did make contributions but they failed to make huge individual scores. But the bowlers of SRH was the highlight of the match. They defended this below par score quite well. There was some disciplined bowling by Bhuvaneshwar (2 for 25) and Rashid Khan (3 for 14). Natarajan bowled with accuracy and good length in crucial overs. Abhishek Sharma controlled the run rate. Khaleel Ahmed is the only bowler whose first 2 overs leaked plenty of runs. But he came back well in his last 2 overs. Natarajan and Rashid Khan bowled accurate and good length balls which prevented the Delhi batsman from chasing a modest total of 160.
Rashid Khan was the pick of the bowlers with 3/14. Even though the batting of SRH was not up to mark, the bowlers did a good job. This performance by SRH was not a dominating one though, there is need for a lot of improvement, especially in the batting standards.
Shahbaz Nadeem is being over looked, he is a very smart spin bowler like Yuzavendra Chahal. DC team bowlers are very strong but their batsman should not have a casual approach in order to maintain the winning their streak in future matches.
So we look forward to the future matches of these teams to see how they have adapted!
