ENG vs IRE 2023: England and Ireland will play the one-off test match at Oval Cricket Ground, London ahead of Ashes 2023. England Cricket Board(ECB) names their playing 11 for the one-match test series against Ireland.
England Cricket Team is playing this test match ahead of Ashes 2023 to prepare themselves better for the Five Test Match series against Australia, which will start from June 16th.
The ECB announces Playing 11 for the test match against Ireland. Ben Stokes is going to lead the team in the start of English Summer, and Ollie Pope is chosen as the new vice-captain for this test match.
Due to minor injuries, James Anderson and Ollie Robinson are ruled out of this test match against Ireland. ‘The 25 Years old Josh Tongue was included in the Playing 11, whereas Chris Woakes couldn’t book his place in the Playing 11 despite being in the squad.
James Anderson and Ollie Robinson misses out one-off test:
James Anderson and Ollie Robinson were not in the playing 11 because they had minor injuries and will rest for this series, but They will play in the Ashes 2023.
England’s Head coach said, “For the Ashes 2023, I think Anderson and Robinson will get fit, and they won’t be fit for this test match, and we are monitoring their Recovery.”
In the Absence of these two pacers, Josh Tongue will give more strength to England’s Pace attack with Stuart Board and Matthew Potts. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley will open for England in this test match Whereas Vice Captain Ollie Pope will plat at no.3.
