The 2nd T20I match of England vs Australia was played at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff where England won the match by defeating Australia by three wickets, and with this victory the series has also reached a 1-1 draw. The biggest contribution to England’s victory was made by middle order batsman Liam Livingstone who played an innings of 87 runs.

England captain Philip Salt won the toss and invited the visiting Australian team to bat first. Batting first, the Kangaroo team scored 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Travis Head’s excellent form continued in this match as well, he scored 31 runs in just 14 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Jake Fraser-McGurk, who was playing only his third match, also played an important role in taking the scoreboard forward. Fraser scored a half-century in just 31 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. Wicketkeeper batsman Josh Inglis scored 42 runs in 26 balls while batting-allrounder Aaron Hardie scored 20 runs in just nine balls.

While chasing the target, England lost their wickets in the form of Will Jacks and Jordan Cox for just 34 runs. Sean Abbott took the wickets of both the batsmen in the same over. After the dismissal of both, there was a partnership of 45 runs between Philip Salt and Liam Livingstone. After the dismissal of Salt (39), the Australian team made a comeback in the game for some time but Liam Livingstone soon turned the match in England’s favour.

Liam Livingstone displayed great skill and scored 87 runs in just 47 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes. Jacob Bethell supported Livingstone very well, Bethell, playing his first international match, scored 44 runs in just 24 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes and leveled the England vs Australia series 1-1.
