England named squad for the 5th Test match against India: The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday revealed the England squad for the 5th test match against India at Manchester. The hosts have included the likes of Jos Buttler and Jack Leach in the squad for the final test at Old Trafford.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Buttler was unavailable for the fourth test match due to the birth of his second child. Jonny Bairstow took the wicketkeeping duties in Buttler’s absence in a fourth test match at Oval.

India outplayed England at the Oval to retain the Pataudi Trophy. The visitors thrashed the home side by a massive 157 runs to go up with 2-1 in the five matches test series.

The final test match will be played at Manchester Old Trafford from September 10 where England will look to level the series while India will aim to continue to be in winning ways and comprehensively lock the test series.

Spinner Jack Leach is also included in England’s squad for the final test. Leach scalped 28 wickets in 6 test matches last winter but the cricketer is out of action for England since march.

Craig Overton who took a nasty blow on his elbow yesterday on his dismissal delivery is also included in the squad, which indicate that the cricketer is all fine.

James Anderson may also miss out on the final test due to the heavy workload. England’s pace spearhead is active since the beginning of the series and management is not sure about his fitness for the final test.

“He [Anderson] and I will have a conversation together, he will have input into that without a shadow of a doubt, James knows his own body and he will certainly give me an honest opinion of where he is at, and it is certainly one I will listen to. I know he won’t want to miss any cricket but we have to look after him,” said England head coach Chris Silverwood after defeat at The Oval.
