England Test Team: Beginning of a New Era in Test Cricket in 2022.

The England Test Team blew the New Zealand Cricket Team away in the 3-Match Test Series. The team played exceptionally well with the bat. The focus point was that the England test Team played aggressive cricket with the bat. Off-late under the captaincy of Joe Root, the England team was struggling. They were struggling so bad that they were placed at the bottom of the WTC Table for quite some time. But we have seen the England team getting revamped after the 2015 World Cup. Is this story of the red-ball team something similar? Here is an in-depth look at the same:

Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum Will Revamp England Test Team:

Here is a look at the recent on-field activities of the England Cricket Team:

  1. Chased 115 runs in 15 overs to win the 3rd Test Match VS New Zealand.
  1. Chased almost 300 runs on the 5th Day of the 2nd Test Match.
  2. Jonny Bairstow scored a hundred in 69 balls.
  3. Ben Stokes Played at a strike rate of 112.
  4. England Test Team has consistently played 5 bowlers in the team, showing attacking intent to bowl out the opposition.

The main aim of Brendon McCullum associating with the England Test Team was to give them a new approach in the red-ball format. The English men were battered and bruised after the beating they got at the hands of India in India and at home as well. Next up was the Ashes series. Joe Root and Chris Silverwood stepped down from the positions of management. And Ben Stokes was appointed as the new captain. Brendon McCullum was appointed as head coach.

Brendon McCullum Believes in Slam Bang Cricket:

There are only a few players that believe or believed in the slam-bang approach of cricket. When we look at the past, we find Sanath Jayasuriya, Virender Sehwag, Brendon McCullum, and Shane Warne. Warnie could go for runs but in the end, he would take the wickets of those balls as well. McCullum showed us the true meaning of the word attack in the 2015 world cup! One can never forget that!

The slam-bang approach is nothing but an all-out attack approach. In simple terms means that the batters attack from ball one. They play to tear the ball apart. They either hit the ball out of the park or themselves get out. The bowlers, on the other hand, go for runs but are always attacking.

So, for bowlers, let us take an example. Stuart Broad will get hit for cover drives but will never bowl on the short of good length because that will reduce his chance to get a nick of the batter. Adil Rashid can be taken for runs but he will always flight the ball. So, be it the batters or the bowlers, the attacking approach will always be there.
