English Players unlikely to feature in the remainder of Vivo IPL 2021: ECB MD Ashley Giles.

England Men’s team Managing Director, Ashley Giles has hinted at not allowing their professional cricketers in the remainder of the Vivo Indian Premier League Season 14.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to host the remainder of the suspended IPL 2021 in UAE in the window of September 15 to October 15. A 30 days window is being targeted for the completion of the elite cash-rich competition.

Ashley Giles clearly hinted that they have no plans to alter their cricket calendar now and are focused on completing their international assignments this summer. England has a packed international summer ahead, they will clash with New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and other teams.

Giles stated that players will be allowed to have rest after coming from a hectic and tedious time of cricket but the intention of giving guys a break wouldn’t be for them to go and play cricket anywhere else.

“We have a full schedule if we go from the end of the fifth Test in September. We are set to leave for Bangladesh in the next couple of days. We have a full schedule right through, including Pakistan and wherever the T20 World Cup is,” said Giles.

“We are going to have to give some of these guys a break at some point. But the intention of giving guys a break for, say, Bangladesh wouldn’t be for them to go and play cricket elsewhere.

“We have to manage our schedule now, so we get our guys arriving in the best shape possible for the T20 World Cup and Ashes,” said Giles.

India and England will clash for a five games Test series, starting August 4. After the completion of the assignment against England, the Indian players are most likely to board a flight to UAE for the competition of the Vivo IPL 2021.

The Indian board is looking the IPL 2021 as the thorough preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
