FIFA World Cup 2022: England Full Squad Announced. Key Players, Best First XI, Predictions. All You Need to Know.

Here is a quick look at one of the top favorites to win the FIFA World Cup 2022. The English team under Southgate can win!

The England football team is going to arrive in Qatar for FIFA World Cup 2022 as one of the top European sides. The immense squad depth that the English team has adds value to the team. With that being said, the team chosen by Gareth Southgate has a great balance of experience and youth. It has the best of both worlds. Southgate has attempted to strike a balance so that the runners-up from Euro 2020 make it this time! If the players play to their potential, the English team can easily finish in the top 4! Here is an in-depth look:

England Football Team for FIFA World Cup 2022:

Manager: Gareth Southgate

Forwards: James Maddison (Leicester City), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jack Grealish (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur), Raheem Sterling (Chelsea), Callum Wilson (Newcastle United)

Midfielders: Mason Mount (Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Manchester City), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Declan Rice (West Ham United)

Defenders: Ben White (Arsenal), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), Conor Coady (Everton, loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers), Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Eric Dier (Tottenham Hotspur), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle United), Kyle Walker (Manchester City),

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal), Nick Pope (Newcastle United)

Key Players:

Trent Alexander-Arnold:

Trent is one highly underrated asset. He has been exceptional for the ones at Anfield. Season after season he has shown progress in his game. The England team will find it difficult to look beyond him as one of the wing-backs. It is his pace that adds immense value to his game. He is a player who can cover the length of the pitch for entire 90 mins. He is a true workhorse. Alexander-Arnold is a precise example of an attacking defender. His game at times reminds the community of Branislav Ivanovic. He will have to carry some weight of the defense with Kyle Walker and Eric Dier to his aid.

Phil Foden:

Phil Foden is an integral part of the strike force that South gate has tried to put together. Whether Phil will get a game or not is a big question as they have the likes of Rashford, Serling, and Kane up-front. But if Phil does get a game, he can be England’s trump card. His pace is unmatched and so is his skill. He has a good combination of both and hence he can make the defenders dance to his tunes. He is more of a playmaker than a striker. The job of striking can be taken up by the players mentioned above while Phil does the job of assisting them with the ball. Phil has previously dominated the global stage at the age group level. He won the golden ball at the U-17 FIFA World Cup held in India in 2017.

Predictions for FIFA World Cup 2022:

The England squad is in a relatively easier group. They are placed along with Iran, Wales, and the USA. The USA can be a big opposition for the English squad as they have genuinely talented players. But the other teams look pretty mediocre as compared to the English team. I expect them to top this group and go through to the round of 16. If it plays to potential, the team will also make it to the semi-finals.
