The FIFA World Cup 2022 will get underway the day after tomorrow, and the teams are rooting for a good campaign. Each team is bringing a unique set of players with them, all of whom have a unique strategy and will be keen on leaving an impression. But statistically speaking, there are only a few teams that have the squad depth and form required to perform exceptionally well. Here is a look at my four semi-finalists for the FIFA World Cup 2022:
FIFA World Cup 2022: Argentina will be in the Semi-Finals:
Argentina has both components for having a great tournament. But it is the injuries that have marred this team. Paulo Dybala and Angel Di Maria, both senior players are coming off from injuries. Lo Celso is already out due to an injury. But the immense squad depth has covered up for the injuries. They have good players at each position and their form has been great. Lionel Messi is their trump card or their X-Factor player. Apart from that, a lot will rely on Lautaro and Lisandro Martinez. One will take care of the defense and the other will be the number 9.
FIFA World Cup 2022: Brazil will be in the Semi-Finals:
Brazil will be the other South American team that will make it to the semi-finals. Brazil will rely on their mid-field and their attack line. Their defense is great but not very lucrative. If we want to witness Brazilian Magic, it will be from the feet of the attackers. Neymar and Vini will be playing up-front. Fred and Casemiro will be in the central mid-field.
FIFA World Cup: France will be in the Semi-Finals:
France is not in the best of forms but this is my surprise pick for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante are out of the tournament due to injuries. But the Frenchmen have managed to find like-to-like replacements. Pogba and Kante are one-of-a-kind players but trying to fill their voids is a big task. France has managed to do it and it speaks volumes of its depth. The defense will rely on Joules Kunde and Presnel Kimpembe. The wings will feature Rabiot. Rabiot is in the form of his life. His game has improved by four folds while playing for Juventus.
FIFA World Cup: England will be in the Semi-Finals:
England will also make it to the semi-finals this time around. Harry Kane will be their leader on the pitch. But many senior players will have a lot to prove. Maguire and Luke Shaw are receiving a lot of flak and it is said that they are not deserving of a spot. This is their opportunity to shun the critics. Southgate has played different combinations but he likes to play with a back 5. The back 5 can be Dier, Kyle Walker, Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Alexander-Arnold. Jude Bellingham is my “young player to watch out for”.
