DC vs RR Match Report
Another home team lost the toss and the Royals chose to bowl first at Arun Jaitley Stadium. No changes in either side's starting 11.
Rajasthan Royals were sharp early with the ball but lost control later, also making errors in the field. JFM and Abhishek Porel opened and provided an explosive start, but not for too long. Bad run for JFM continues, and Karun Nair fell for an unfortunate run-out. Delhi Capitals were at 130 after 16 overs, and that's where they shifted gears. The pitch was slow, making it tough to score, but Delhi added 77 runs in the last 5 overs.
Delhi Capitals put up a strong total of 188/5, thanks to some explosive hitting in the final overs, especially by Axar Patel, Stubbs, and Ashutosh. Chasing this target wasn't going to be easy for RR. Interestingly, this is the lowest total in seven IPL games in Delhi since 2024.
The chase started exactly the way Delhi Capitals finished their innings, aggressive and at rocket speed! 63 runs under the powerplay. Samson, after his 31 off 19, got retired hurt, and Nitish Rana and Jaiswal continued the onslaught.
They both played a brilliant innings of 51 runs each. They eventually got out at the important time, but Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer kept their calm and drove the team close to the target. They needed 9 runs from the last over, and Starc delivered a decent over, leaking 8 runs. The Scores were level, and the match went to the SUPER OVER!
