Good News for RCB ahead of IPL 2025 - Star English all-rounder confirms return from injury
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), one of the sides with the largest fanbases in the history of the IPL, marked a surprising IPL auction by picking the majority of English players, though they didn’t opt to retain a single player from their previous editions.
Having gone into the auction with Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, the newly assigned skipper for RCB in IPL 2025, and Yash Dayal as the only retained players, they included Englishmen like Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, and Jacob Bethell in the side.
Bethell, the young Englishman who was about to make his IPL debut with RCB this season, was ruled out owing to an injury he faced during the first ODI against India earlier this series. Bethell was largely doubtful of the IPL 2025; however, now he has been reported to be back and available for RCB in his first season.
RCB’s best possible Playing 11 under skipper Rajat Patidar
Virat Kohli will once again feature as RCB’s star cricketer since he will lead their batting from the front, featuring at the top of the order.
The four possible overseas players who might feature in the playing 11 would include the likes of Phil Salt, the wicket-keeper batsman who was startled by his dominating performance for KKR last season.
While Liam Livingstone and Tim David will be considered in the 11 alongside Jacob Bethell since Josh Hazlewood, the Australian speedster, was not considered owing to his supposed unavailability owing to injury.
RCB Probable Playing 11: Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar [C], Jacob Bethell, Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal, and Rasikh Dar.
